What is a Favicon?
A favicon is the small logo or icon that appears in your website’s browser tab, in Google search results, and when someone saves your site as a bookmark or shortcut on their device. If you’ve ever noticed a tiny logo next to a website name in your browser or on your phone’s home screen, that’s a favicon. Some people also call it a tab icon, website icon, or bookmark logo.
Where Will Visitors See It?
In the tab of their internet browser (next to your page title)
In Google search results, next to your website name
When saving your website as a bookmark or adding it to a phone home screen
Default vs Custom Favicon
Unless you add your own, Springnest automatically displays a default website icon for you. While this ensures you always have one in place, updating it to your own logo or brand symbol helps visitors recognise and trust your website instantly.
Favicon Requirements
For the best results, your favicon should:
Be saved as .png format
Be at least 48x48 pixels (Springnest will automatically resize it for different devices)
Have a simple, high-contrast design that looks clear even at small sizes
Want to Update Your Favicon?
