Image Guidelines

Springnest optimises any image that you upload to your website, to ensure that it doesn't slow down the time it takes for visitors to load and see your content. We can't, however, increase the quality of a photo which is too small to fit your website template.

What size should my images be?

When talking about the size of image, you can either refer to the size of the file (e.g. 1 MB), or the dimensions of the photo (e.g. 1600 pixels wide, and 700 pixels high). When taking or choosing images for your website, ensure that they are at least 1600 pixels on their longest side.

Portrait on Landscape?

The orientation of your image determines whether it is a landscape (wide) or portrait (tall) image. Landscape images generally work best on the web and for digital marketing, especially for banners and sliders, as it is easier to crop them without compromising the subject of the image.

What about formats or file types?

In most cases, the images you take on your camera, phone, or receive from your photographer, will be in .JPG format (it's also the best file type to upload and use on your website). .PNG files can also be uploaded in Springnest, though is more useful for logos or badges. .PDF files can't be used to upload images in Springnest, though could be useful for documents and forms.

Adding a new logo file?

Before you upload the file, consider the following:

  • Format: .PNG file on a transparent background.
  • Dimensions: This varies depending on the design, it should be between 200 - 300 pixels wide.

If you find that you are unsure before the upload, feel free to email us: help@springnest.com.
