- A link to your YouTube video, set to either Public or Unlisted in YouTube Privacy Settings
- Springnest Admin access to edit a page with a Top Banner Section
- Make your video the only slide in your banner (in other words, it’s recommended not to create a slideshow with multiple images when you have a video banner present)
- Use a short video in landscape orientation, created and edited to be used on your website
- Avoid fade-in or fade-out effects at the beginning or the end of your website (the video with loop seamlessly on your Springnest website)
- Avoid adding any text, graphics, or logos to your video. A clean reel of quality footage works best. You can add banner text and buttons over your video in Springnest Admin if you please.
- In the YouTube Video Settings, deactivate the "up next" function for the video, and remove any end screen features like Cards (if you upload a new video, you won't have to worry about this)
How to add a video background to a Top Banner:
Step 1: Edit the page you want to add a video background to, then navigate to the Top Banner section in the page menu
Step 2: Click the Add a New Slide button or click Edit to update an existing slide
Step 4: Add or update the title for your slide in the Title field
Step 5: Click Add or Change Media > Select Video from the options in the pop-up menu
Step 6: Paste the link to your YouTube video. Once the preview thumbnail has loaded, click the Add Video button
Step 7 (Optional): If your video has sound, we recommend ticking the box to show player controls. This will allow your visitors to unmute and pause the video if they wish.
Step 8 (Optional): You can add a fallback image for your video in the File Manager, by using the image icon on the video's thumbnail, and selecting an image from your File Manager. The fallback image will display before your video starts playing, while the content is loading.
